Stop-motion Animation - Students are given the opportunity to plan, shoot and edit a stop-motion animation Wallace and Gromit style! Equipped with various sets, props and materials the students plan their animations on a storyboard and set up their cameras ready to begin animating. Zu3D software is used to add sounds effects, voice recordings and a series of titles to enhance their final cuts. Students are encouraged to plan and revise their use of language in the form of titles and voiceovers to convey meaning to a new audience.

Video editing - Silverstone Circuit’s have produced promotional videos for the experience days they offer to members of the public. We challenge students to enhance the videos using persuasive language in the form of titles and voiceovers. Apple iMovie software is used to create their eye-catching film.
Learning Outcomes – to convince the audience using persuasive language; to speak with confidence adapting speech for persuasive purpose; to acquire and develop a range of ICT skills; to be aware of different presentation skills.
Podcasting – Students make an informed choice about an aspect of Silverstone they wish to tell the world about. Research is carried out, scripts are written and in pairs the students record their podcast using Apple GarageBand software ready to go live to a real audience over the web. Silverstone podcasting gives a real purpose for their use of language.
