Bitesize Apple
Silverstone Study Centre is able to offer an Apple experience day which not only introduces students to Apple technology but also to popular software available. Students will be introduced to the basics of using Apple MacBooks. PhotoBooth, software that allows the user to take photographs using the built-in webcams, also provides creative backdrops and a chance to develop their photography skills. This is followed by an opportunity to visit parts of Silverstone Circuit with the aim to take plenty of photographs ready for their return to the centre. Uploading their photographs with iPhoto allows students to edit, organise and to view them full-screen. The photographs are then used to create a comic about their day at the centre using Comic Life software.
Learning Outcomes: introduction to an Apple operating system including navigation and the use of Finder, the Dock, files and folders; importing and organising photographs; review and improve photograph with iPhoto; design comics using related software; select and relay information gathered.
Cost: 30 pupils £400 per day
