Playing for Success
As one of the key programmes delivered at Silverstone Study Centre, the ‘Playing for Success’ (PfS) initiative uses the medium and environment of sport to raise pupil standards in literacy, numeracy and ICT as well as building self-esteem and self-confidence.
Silverstone Study Centre works in partnership with local schools, to provide selected 9 to 14 year-old pupils with access to an out-of-school-hours study experience that not only builds confidence and motivation, but also positively dovetails with personalised learning goals set in school.
Our curriculum makes use of our unique environment at Silverstone to complement the excellent work already being carried out in our schools to engage pupils and to make learning fun.
PfS pupils are invited to spend an introductory day at Silverstone in order to get to know the study centre staff and to gather data and multimedia information that will be used on occasions during the next eight weeks to create, celebrate, investigate, explore, perform and publish!
Take a look at our ‘Introductory Day‘ page or our PfS Curriculum area for more information.
