Well the spring term has come to an end and we are now getting ready for the Easter holidays. It’s been a very busy term at the study centre with the new centre manager Trevor Wadham starting his new role. We’ve had a wonderful term with all our Playing for Success schools, have built a new relationship with Porsche Silverstone and have begun a Gifted and Talented programme with local schools to construct a Silverstone Virtual Museum. I wonder what next term has in store for us!

Silverstone Study Centre would like to wish all it’s schools, pupils, partners and sponsors a very happy Easter!

Last night we held our spring term Presentation Evening for all those involved in this terms Playing for Success programme. Pupils, parents and teachers came along to celebrate the achievements of the young learners. Not only that but Steve Deeks, professional racing driver and presenter of Channel 4 show GT Academy, spoke about the future of Silverstone and the young peoples involvement  before presenting the children with their certificate and prize.

I wonder what the parents and pupils thought of it? Feel free to let us know by leaving a comment below…

Just to remind all Playing for Success pupils, parents and school staff that we are hosting our termly presentation evening tonight (Tues 23rd March) in the International Media Centre from 6.30 to 8.00 pm to celebrate the achievements of the children during this terms programme.

As well as a summary of the highlights of this term’s activities, there will be a prize giving ceremony and a short address from a member of the Silverstone driving team. Every child will be presented with a ‘graduation’ certificate and prize.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Having braved the cold winds whistling around the Circuit, the children from Syresham Primary School managed to warm up in what Silverstone’s Driving Instructors call the Toy Box. The workshop stores all the experience cars including an old F1 car. Check out the photos below!

Syresham Primary pupils looking rather cold after our visit to the Podium!

Today students from Newbottle and Charlton Primary School have visited the Study Centre for their introductory day. Having produced their own press passes they then were able to access Silverstone Circuit. They visited race control and the podium, they explored the pit lane and experienced what it’s like to be a F1 driver.
